Ghostbusters Comics
The exploits of the Ghostbusters don't end at just the movies and the cartoon. Comic book series have been published since the mid-80s and continue on to this day! This section explores the comic book universe that Ghostbusters call home.
NOW Comics
The NOW Comics published issues of the Real Ghostbusters and Slimer in the late 80s to early 90s. The Real Ghostbusters deal with werewolves, gangster ghosts, time travelers and dinosaurs in locations ranging from outer space to the center of the earth! This series does tend to stray from the source material in order to tell its stories. One of my personal favorites, however, is the comic book adaptation of the second movie starring the Real Ghostbusters.

Marvel UK Comics
The UK branch of Marvel Comics had a 193 issue run of the Real Ghostbusters. The comics stayed incredibly true to the original character design and mimicked their cartoon personalities quite well. The comics even tied in some of the Kenner toys, such as the Ecto-500 and the Super Fright Features space suits. The comics weren't the only printed media available from Marvel UK, as story books, hardback annuals, and puzzles and games were released. The later issues of the comic series (180-193) are near impossible to find due to the franchise's limited run at the end of the series.

Carnival Books
Carnival adapted several of the cartoon episodes into short stories for children to read. Several episodes were adapted into on large book titled the "Real Ghostbusters Storybook." I've seen other cartoon series, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, adapted into Carnival books as well. Carnival also did coloring books and other types of activity books.
